The NNUN node at Howard University is located in the Materials Science Research Center of Excellence (MSRCE), School of Engineering. Howard's NNUN node primarily provides services in the epitaxial growth of wide bandgap materials (nitride and carbide compound semiconductors). It has a state-of-the-art Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition reactor (MOCVD) with full-time staff to maintain the equipment and train users. It also has other equipment for on-site material characterization and device fabrication. In addition to providing service and equipment, the node also actively participates in educational outreach programs which benifit both students and faculty.
